New Beginnings~

What a year it has been, no doubt!  In one year, I lost my job and shortly after my husband sadly asked for a divorce.  I know it could have been much worse however felt like my world came tumbling down and honestly felt lost for sometime.  However, I am trusting that the Lord has a bigger and better plan for me and really putting my faith in that.  Talk about surrendering, what testament to one's faith, but honestly love what is happening in my life.  I have been blessed with three amazing kids, a new job and even a new place to live.  I have also been provided the opportunity to return to school in January to complete my degree!  I am VERY excited about this new chapter of my life, as I really want to set the right example for my children.  My kids are my world, they keep me grounded and motivated!  LOVE THEM!

The kids and I moved back into our old house in May.  I had originally sold to my sister as they wanted an investment property since they were in the military and traveling so much.  It's amazing how God works as it was available and really was the best option for us and the kids. I have really been blessed with a great family, my sister and her husband Matt have really been instrumental through this process and can't thank them enough for ALL they have done!  I thought it would be hard moving back into the old house, however we did some renovations and it actually helped.  The memories were good memories for the most part so that was an added comfort as well.  I do however wish I had just one more bedroom!  The boys really do need their own space! haha

Austin is a Sophomore this year, very involved in ROTC and really enjoying it.  He's part of the their shooting squad and hopes to compete nationally his Jr. and Sr. year.  He's also looking forward to getting his license in the next year and is also looking to try out for basketball as well provided it doesn't conflict with JROTC.  These kids keep me pretty busy!!

Connor just wrapped up his final year in the
OC youth football legue, rough season this year, his team didn't win a game but he played well and with heart!  He suffered his first serious injury to his head and neck this however recovered well.  Next year he will play freshman football.....crazy to think he's already played the sport for 5 years.  He's now getting ready to play basketball and looking forward to that as well.

Ashlyn, my little "monkey"!  Oh this little one.....she really is our little blessing.  The boys truly adore her and are so good with her.  She is in preschool...little miss social and LOVES it!  Just started ballet....she's been asking for this for nearly a year now.  Such a JOY this little girl is!

Grateful to be a Mom!

So it's been a while, nearly a year since my last post. I will get better at this eventually, but I do work full time now and have three kiddos! Two of which are usually involved with a sport of some kind. Yes, our schedules can get kind of crazy but that is what I LOVE about being a mom. Heck, Ashlyn is almost 1...July 25th! It's crazy to think that Austin, my oldest, will be 13 in January! Connor turns 11 in September. With our newest addtion Ashlyn, and try and think back to when the boys were age and it just seems like a lifetime ago already. I feel very blessed. Football starts in about a month....and summer camp in about 2. Still at KLC,..Bob is still at his same job...but it's been stressful for him. He's had a lot happen this year personally (the main thing was the loss of his dad) so I am praying for a little relief from the big man upstairs!

As some of you already know, we were just recently at Rockaway Beach, OR this past weekend for Memeorial Day with Bob's cousin's and their families and really had a great time. It was a well needed get-a-way weekend. The kids had no fear or care in the world as to how cold the water was, they are such water babies, always have been.

That's all for now. =)

Baby Ashlyn Update!

All is going well in the Curtiss household...patiently awaiting the arrival of little miss Ashlyn Sommer! Bob is getting very excited and has been shopping for her very first pair of baby pink Jordans! Too cute! Austin helped me the other day arrange and organize her closet. Everything is ready,...crib, craddle and for the most part her room. We are still waiting for the gliding rocking chair that grandma had purchased for us, should be coming any day now! I hope to go on maternity leave soon...not sure yet as to when that will be. I am thinking sometime around the 17th. I had a few baby showers and I am very thankful for all of my wonderful friends and thoughtful gifts,.thank you! That little girl will be pretty stylish! Head to the doctor tomorrow, Bob is hoping to come as well as they will be doing an ultrasound to make sure all is okay. We had some pre-term labor issues a few weeks back and now my doctor just wants to keep an eye on things are progressing. I really don't think I will make the full 5 week mark but we'll see! You just never know! That's all for now!

We have a name!

Well as many of you already may know we have finally decided on a name for our daughter! We wanted something unique and not too common. We decided to give her my middle name as we wanted her to have something special from me. The boys were very helpful and came up with many suggestions such as Amanda, Candice, Katelyn, Cadence just to name a few. However the name we chose was neither of those...we have decided on Ashlyn Sommer Curtiss! We love it and it was really the only name that Bob and I actually agreed on!

We had our 28 week check up on Monday and all looks great! I am happy to report that I passed the diabetes test however my iron level is a bit on the low side. Apparently baby is taking a lot of blood!! Nice! So it just means I need to take more IRON! YUM! Only 12 weeks to go!!

It's a GIRL! (And we've moved!)

Hi there, it's been a while since my last posting. I am still trying to get use to this whole blogging thing. We've been pretty busy with moving which has been taking up most of our time. We are still living in Oregon City, however just moved to the other side of town. They boys will be attending a new school in the fall however finishing out their year at Mcloughlin. So far the boys like the new place, still unpacking their rooms and that could very well take them a while as they are easily distracted with their new surroundings. =) It's all coming together, it's just going to take time as I don't move as fast as I use to these days. Too bad I just can't snap my fingers and be done with it!

Most of you already know as we have shared with most of you by now, that we are expecting a little girl in July. We are pretty excited, and no we have not decided on a name just yet. We have some ideas going but nothing that really jumps out at us. We are open to ideas so feel free to share! Bob keeps thinking of car names,...go figure! hehe

Well that's all for now. We'll post some updated pictures of the house once we get a little more unpacked!!

Curtiss Family 2009

I am the mother of 2 wonderful boys, Austin and Connor and wife to my wonderful hubby Bob! We've been married over 10 years now and recently was surprised when we found out we are pregnant with our third child! I am 4 months and 1 week along and we hope to find out the sex of our baby on March 5th.

Back in September we sold our home to my sister Shannon and her husband Matt and after months of searching found the right home for us. We will continue to live in Oregon City however the boys will unfortunately have to change schools.

On Thursday this past week I had my regular doctor check up and was asked to help them test out their new ultra sound machine, so of course said yes! Any reason to get another glimpse of the baby is just fine with me. The boys were with me that day so they got to see the baby for the first time too! They thought it was so neat and couldn't believe how developed the baby was. The doctor tried to find out the sex however I told her I didn't want to know since Bob wasn't there. So we are waiting three more weeks. We'll see if my feeling is correct!!
